Santa Came To Town On A Firetruck?

[ad]

No reindeer today Santa came to visit the children of my neighborhood on top of a firetruck. Sirens a blaring and all. Each year our Fire Department loads Santa on a fire truck and zips him through the neighborhoods waving and throwing out bags of yummy treats to all the kids.

Santa didn’t make it directly down our street this year much to the kids disappointment but my husband the storm chaser kick in and quickly became a Santa chaser. He was able to track Santa down a few blocks away and the kids got to see Santa up close and of course get their bag of yummy treats. Now the kids sit and sip a cup of hot cocoa as it is so cold and snack on their treats. You can see and hear their little imaginations take flight as they discuss with each other their wishes for Christmas, their curiosity about where the reindeer are and of course the fact that Christmas is only 12 days away and they just cannot contain their excitement.

We are so blessed to live in one of the greatest communities.  I can honestly say we cannot afford to live here, it really is beyond our financial means, but I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. What kind of Holiday traditions does your community, church or neighborhood hold. I would love to hear about it. Leave a comment or send me an email.  Money is tight this year but the memories we create are priceless and better than anything else they last forever.  Happy Holidays -MommyMachelle

What is a mommy?

[ad]

This Poem is dedicated to all the mom’s out there. We have all been there and we will continue to go there throughout motherhood! We understand, respect and appreciate all that mom’s do now let’s just hope our kids recognize one day how much they mean to us and how much we do for them!

Our CRAZY DAYZ with
Frick, Frack, and Jack!

Big fart, skid mark, what do ya know!
Another beached whale in my toilet bowl!
Hot wheels, mom squeals! Stubbed my big toe!

Stop squeezing, no teasing!
Are your ears painted on?
Sometimes it feels like this day is too long!
Oh, I can’t think! Is that permanent ink?
Stop eating with your toes!
And get your finger out of the baby’s nose!

Crazy days, lazy days, out in the yard.
Laughing and playing, it’s not so hard.
Big hug, so much love around our home.
Who would of thought – look how we’ve grown!
Butterfly kisses, fountain wishes,
Our stars are so bright!
Mommy and Daddy, can I sleep with you tonight?

Author: Aimee H.

This poem was wrote by my best friends sister Aimee H. Now I have to take a minute and tell you a little bit more about Aimee, not only is she a wife, a mom of 3 boys and master of her universe but the lady has talent both with her hands and her heart. Have you ever met someone and thought to yourself wow what a nice person. That’s how she is. Aimee and her husband are the funniest, kindest people I think I have ever met. They are the type of people that you just want to be around. My husbands autistic nature doesn’t really allow him to be comfortable around new people or situations but from the first time we met Amiee and Mark he liked them, “they are just good folk” as he puts it. To Aimee thanks for sharing your poem with us because you are right “Every mommy needs a poopi poem!”

What To Do With My Mommy Milestone?

[ad]

Today I celebrate a mommy milestone. After years of anticipating the day when all my children would attend school giving me some much needed and deserved mommy time, I have achieved such. Now only one question remains, what the hell do I do with myself? Of course there is always housework, I have more than enough online work to keep busy and I can finally make those uninterrupted telephones calls but hey wait that’s no fun. So I climb the stairs to enjoy a shower without my three year old peeking in to make sure I was washing my hair correctly. I then run a batch of laundry taking the time to actually sort the colors as most days I just throw in whats right in front of the washer. I then sort through all my junk mail that’s been piling up on the microwave cart, discovering some great deals on pizza for dinner tonight because you know after a morning like this cooking will not be an option.

The house is quiet, I have to turn the radio on just to make some noise because the only quiet time that exists in my house is from the hours of 10:00 pm to 5:00 am while I sleep, and that even gets interrupted almost nightly. I have not had the opportunity to enjoy peace and quite like this for 14 years now and I’m bored. I’m going crazy. I am just going to say it, I miss my kids and it’s only been 2 hours since I loaded them on the bus. I now try to plan what I am going to do with myself for the next 1 ½ hour until they get home.
